Tax USA is a local Montana Accounting Firm that has been around for 30 + years and is locally owned and operated. The company is run by several accountants & partners and offers a nice suite of services including tax prep and bookkeeping. See all services here: Services

Tax USA has one accountant, a bookkeeper, and some additional staff during tax season. Tax USA offers private meeting rooms and personalized service. They can do tax returns from any state, so if you are moving here they can take care of last years taxes etc. You can count on them to do your taxes year after year!

Tax season 10-5 Monday-Friday

Off season 1-5 Tuesday -Thursday

Darlene Mikkola

Darlene was born & raised in central Montana, in a small town named Roberts. She attended school there until college where she graduated in 2004 from the University of Montana, in Missoula. Darlene is a native Montanan. Darlene loves numbers and working with people. She likes the challenge of helping people solve problems. Darlene is an Enrolled Agent.  Enrolled agent status is the highest credential awarded by the IRS.

Darlene has a daughter that lives in Germany with her husband and two children, and a son that teaches at Sentinel High school in Missoula! It seems numbers run in the family! Her son also coaches the boys soccer team. 

When Darlene is not crunching numbers and completing tax returns, she enjoys golfing, paddle boarding boating on Flathead lake, and skiing in the winter! Call Darlene to help you with your tax needs!

Darlene, along with partner Colleen Caprara –  recently retired, purchased Tax USA in 2016. The third partner, Micki Frederikson has been a CPA 30+ years and is a valued consultant for Tax USA.

Angela Ployhar- Payroll/Bookkeeping

Angela handles the payroll and bookkeeping for Tax U.S.A. clients. Though she is originally from Utah, she has lived here in Montana for nearly 15 years. She loves spending time with her family! Her husband works as a machinist in Missoula and her son started school this fall. In their free time, her family enjoys riding SxS all terrain vehicles, target practice, and camping.

She has over 20 years experience in various office settings including Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Pharmacies and with Durable Medical Equipment. She loves working with numbers, and the balancing aspect – everything has its place. She started as a client with Tax USA years ago and was thrilled at the opportunity to continue practicing and growing her skills! She is currently studying for a Bookkeeping Certification, which will further her knowledge and use of QuickBooks, the industry standard for bookkeepers. Angela looks forward to helping you with your bookkeeping and payroll needs.
